I created the artwork for SEIU Local 721’s Juneteenth celebration. Inspired by the textiles decorating the event, I used hand drawn elements, a vibrant color story, and expressive imagery to illustrate the theme.

I partnered with SEIU Local 721’s African American Caucus to create the artwork for their Juneteenth celebration. I explored a range of directions and provided a handful of options to ensure that each event’s branding directly aligned with their vision for the event as a whole. Celebrating African American culture.

For their 2017 event I was influenced by the African textiles decorating the event and donned by guests. I used hand drawn elements filled with energy, movement and rich character to reflect the event as a celebration of African American culture and history. The combination of a vibrant color story, strong typography and expressive imagery visually convey the theme.
